Step 2.

You will then be given the option to select a method of importing your wallet address to MEW.

Step 2.1 MyEtherWallet

Selecting this will generate a QR code that will allow you to connect through your MEW mobile app.

Step 2.2 Browser Extension Wallet

This option will allow you to import browser extension wallets such as Metamask or Dapper. Whatever browser extension you have installed will open when this method is selected.

Step 2.3 Hardware Wallet

MEW supports importing these Hardware wallets: Ledger, Trezor, Keepkey, Bitbox 02 and Coolwallet. Selecting a wallet will give you “install wizard type” instructions on importing your wallet.

WalletLink and WalletConnect each have their own method of importing processes. Selecting one of the two connection protocols will generate a QR code that you can scan then get connected.

Step 2.5 Software Wallet

You need to have at least one of these to import your wallet via software: a private key, Keystore file or mnemonic phrase of your wallet address.

Keystore File

Locate and select the file from your local computer.

Mnemonic Phrase

The mnemonic phrase (aka backup phrase or recovery phrase) is a set of 12 or 24 (the amount depends on which wallet you use) random words that need to be entered in the same order as when created. This method would also work with a paper wallet.

Private Key

Copy and paste your private key into the space provided, accept the terms and click “access wallet”.

Your newly imported wallet address is now available in your MyEtherWallet account.
